How it works

1.  Register - If you’re not a member yet, you’ll need to register for each session on Eventbrite. 

2. Download Zoom - If you’re using a desktop or laptop download ‘Zoom client for meetings’ here. If you’re using a phone or tablet you can use the Zoom app instead. 

3. Get ready - Before the session starts of our Sofa Singers session you’ll receive a link to the lyrics along with an access code to join the session. Please check you junk/spam folder as the email can end up there.   

4.  Join in - When you join the session you will be able to see and hear James, who will take you through the song you’ll be singing, bit-by-bit. You’ll also be able to see the smiling faces of the other singers who have joined us from around the world. This is a really important part of Sofa Singers as it helps everyone feel connected. If you’re feeling a little shy and would rather not show your face this time, that’s okay too. 

5. Sing out - sing as if no-one is listening, because they won't be. Due to to latency (delay) it is not possible to hear all of the singers the same time. But you will be able to see each other, so sing with a smile!

6. Share - after the song there's a short break followed by some open mic slots. This is our chance to hear from you, where you can use the opportunity to share anything from a song or poem, to a recipe or pet. The floor is yours - we’d love you to join us.
